Patronics International announces the introduction of Gateway Service

Patronics International Limited sets up Gateway to Low Cost Manufacture.
Patronics International Limited, a Plymouth UK based EMS provider, has announced the introduction of a Gateway Service to low cost manufacture.
Due to significant investment in automation over a number of years, Patronics finds it’s UK plant already a competitive EMS provider and as a result already attracts pcba and box build manufacture from low to high volume.
With the wish to support product cost down year on year, Patronics has recognised a need in the market for a managed offshore supply provided by a manufacturer rather than just from an agent.
Patronics is in a unique position to manage the manufacture of product from low cost countries. As a producer of a wide range of electronic products from a number of market sectors, Patronics can provide technical as well as commercial support for products that lends themselves to off shore manufacture. Product design, start up, prototype and pre-production can be accomplished in the UK. The declining phase of the product life can also be provided for. Complete or part manufacture can be carried out off shore with final assembly and test carried out in Plymouth if necessary. The service offered includes logistics management so the end customer sees product delivered to their door.
The addition of this service will not reduce Patronics EMS business in the UK, but compliment it.
Over the last 12 months Patronics has searched through the mass of Asian based manufacturers to find a small stable of suppliers with the correct profile to match European business. Companies were initially selected by a process of quality approvals, responsiveness and price and reduced to a short list. The culmination of this search was the recent visit to all the manufacturers by Patronics staff to carry out audits.
Patronics International have now selected two approved manufacturers, both based in Southern China, and anticipate placing production orders in the next few weeks.
